背景说明： Serum Amyloid A-4 Protein (SAA4) is a member of the SAA family.SAA proteins are a family of apolipoproteins associated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in plasma.SAA4 is constitutively expressed only in humans and mice.Its physiological function is unknown.SAA4 functions as a major acute phase reactant.SAA4 mRNA and protein occurrence in macrophage derived foam cells of coronary and carotid arteries implied a specific role of human SAA4 during inflammation including atherosclerosis.
